Soil Preparation
Pumice and Lava Rock are used and provide a course surface for new roots to cling to. The Pumice has extra moisture holding ability. I can't find small enough Lava Rock so I buy the smallest I can and then lay it out on the cement driveway and a slight tap with a hammer quickly breaks it down finer, then use the sifter frame and wash out the dust.
